Satine Phoenix was born in the Philippines, specifically in the small town of Zambales, located in Olongapo province. Her mother is of Filipino descent, while her father is an American soldier of Sicilian ancestry.
After completing high school, Satine relocated to San Francisco to pursue her passions for art and culture. She enrolled at the Academy of Art College, where she honed her skills in illustration, 3D/2D stop-motion animation, and sculpture. However, her thirst for knowledge was not quenched by her formal education alone, and she soon found employment as a programmer at a law research firm.
Working in her cubicle, Satine noticed that everyone else's workspace was stark and cluttered with papers, whereas hers was overflowing with plant life, art, and even an aquarium. This realization struck her like a bolt of lightning: she was only young for a short time, and she should make the most of it while she could.
Satine's life took a dramatic turn when she became a stripper. Her priorities shifted from focus and responsibility to adventure and a life that was previously unimaginable. After five years of dancing at the Hustler Club in San Francisco, she had accumulated a wealth of experiences and inspiration, which she intends to channel into the hundreds of comics she plans to write and draw.
Currently, Satine serves as the Community Manager for Wizards of the Coast, the creators of Dungeons and Dragons. She is also a co-author and artist of the graphic novels The Action Heroines Journey and Nee Praetorians. Additionally, she hosts the popular podcast GMTips on Geek and Sundry, co-created the live streaming network Maze Arcana, and founded the celebrity charity organization D20.
