Scott Elrod, a man of diverse pursuits and passions, was born in Germany to a military family, whose frequent relocations led to him being primarily raised in Parker, Colorado. His father, an F-16 pilot, instilled in Scott a dream of becoming a pilot himself, which he eventually fulfilled by earning his pilot's license after high school and securing a job as an air traffic controller.
In his high school days, Scott excelled in math and science, while also developing a passion for baseball and track. However, it was during his post-graduation years that he discovered a new kind of track, taking up motorcycle racing.
Scott's early working life was marked by a variety of jobs, including pizza delivery and runway construction at Denver International Airport. His good looks soon led to a career in modeling, which he eventually left behind to focus on his own marketing company with a friend. He eventually rose through the ranks to become Vice President of Sales for a technology company, but despite his professional successes, he found himself unhappy.
A chance viewing of the 1986 film Top Gun sparked a realization within Scott that his true calling lay in acting. He relocated to Los Angeles, where he enrolled in an acting class, attending six days a week. His early performances in small roles on CSI: NY and Days of Our Lives eventually caught the attention of the casting team for Men in Trees, in which he played the part of Cash, the love interest of Anne Heche.
In his free time, Scott remains an enthusiast of flying, motorcycle racing, and car racing, and he stays physically fit through weight training and kickboxing. He is also a devoted companion to his best friend, a yellow Labrador named Harley Davidson.
