Scott Maslen was born in the vicinity of the historic Bow Bells in London, and spent his early years in Woolwich, where he made the pivotal decision at the age of 16 to pursue a career in the Royal Marines. Despite this, he went on to break his foot at the age of 18, which led to a spontaneous holiday to Miami with friends, where he spent time working and soaking up the sun on the beach.
It was during this holiday that Scott's life took an unexpected turn, as he was spotted by world-renowned photographer Bruce Weber, who offered him a green card and launched him into a successful career as an international model. Scott went on to work for esteemed fashion brands such as Versace, traveling the world and staying in luxurious hotels, driving high-performance cars, and surrounded by beautiful women.
As he entered his twenties, Scott's modeling career began to wind down, and he was advised by actor Bill Paxton to explore the world of acting. He enrolled in the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he met fellow actor Orlando Bloom, and spent three years honing his craft. Despite being offered a role in the film Snatch, Scott had to decline due to his ongoing education, but eventually landed a part in the Lock, Stock... TV series with Ralph Winter, which aired on Channel 4.
Scott's subsequent roles included Highlander: The Raven TV series, Dead on Arrival, and guest appearances in Heartbeat and Peak Practice. However, it was his plum part as Detective Sergeant Phil Hunter in the popular ITV series The Bill (1984) that cemented his status as a respected actor in the UK.
