Shane Morton, a distinguished figure in the entertainment industry, embarked upon a remarkable career in show business, initially as a professional actor, a full twenty years ago. His remarkable journey began with a pivotal and formative role as Christopher Wren at the tender age of fifteen in the esteemed Marshall County Community Theatre's production of Agatha Christie's classic whodunit, Mousetrap. This auspicious debut marked the inception of his abiding passion for the craft, which he subsequently continued to cultivate and refine at Murray State University, where he pursued a major in Theatre/Vocal Performance.
Shane's passion for musical theatre drove him to embark on a journey as a theatre gypsy, traversing the vast expanse of the continental United States, Canada, and Mexico, his wanderlust fueled by the thrill of the stage. As the year 2000 dawned, he finally settled in the charming city of Philadelphia, where he assumed the esteemed role of casting director for Broadway On Tour/TAFY, his expertise and acumen in high demand. It was during this pivotal period that he crossed paths with his life partner, Jody Newman, while they were both cast in the iconic stage play R&J, their chance encounter blossoming into a romance that would last a lifetime.
Shane's professional journey began with a multifaceted approach, as he simultaneously produced, directed, and wrote various projects within the Philadelphia landscape.
However, a transformative epiphany awaited him, as he began to shift his creative focus away from the works of Tom Cruise and instead found himself drawn to the cinematic masterpieces of renowned filmmakers such as Alfred Hitchcock, Vincente Minnelli, and François Truffaut.
Noteworthy since his relocation to the City of Angels, Shane has had the distinction of directing a multitude of stage productions, while simultaneously producing and directing an impressive array of short films.
Currently, the duo is diligently working on pre-production for their forthcoming short film, as well as meticulously developing their feature film, The Dare of Bunk 13, a project that holds immense promise.
In addition to his own endeavors, Shane is also the co-founder of Indie Express, a pioneering online platform specifically designed to cater to the needs of the independent filmmaker and the discerning indie audience member.
When not engrossed in his own creative pursuits, Shane can often be found attending various film festivals, indulging in his love of cinema, and engaging in thought-provoking conversations with fellow filmmakers, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie within the industry.
