Sharmita was born and raised in the greater Houston area, where her artistic inclinations first began to take shape through her early explorations of dance and music. As she grew older, her fascination with the arts only intensified, ultimately leading her to relocate to Austin to pursue her higher education at the University of Texas at Austin.
It was during her time at the University that Sharmita discovered her true passion for acting, and she quickly became enamored with the craft. To further hone her skills, she began taking on various projects outside of her academic pursuits, including short films, acting courses, and modeling gigs. This multifaceted approach allowed her to gain valuable experience and build a strong foundation for her future endeavors.
Upon graduating, Sharmita decided to take her acting career to the next level by studying the Meisner Technique under the guidance of renowned acting coach Laurel Vouvray. She also secured representation with the esteemed Collier Talent Agency, which provided her with access to a wide range of opportunities and networking possibilities.
Sharmita continues to work tirelessly to refine her craft, seeking out challenging roles and projects that allow her to grow both as an artist and as a person. Some of her most notable achievements to date include co-starring in the ABC pilot episode of Shonda Rhime's highly anticipated TV series, The Catch, as well as landing the leading role in the narrative music video for the popular pop punk band, The Wonder Years.
In addition to her work in television and music, Sharmita has also had the opportunity to bring her talents to the world of video games, providing the voice of the leading female character, Kamiko, in the highly acclaimed Shadow Warrior 2.
Throughout her career, Sharmita's passion for acting has remained unwavering, and she continues to draw inspiration from the people and experiences that surround her.
