Sheeba Chaddha is a renowned Bollywood actress known for her versatile and unconventional portrayals of Indian women across various movies and series. Born and raised in Delhi, she developed a keen interest in the world of theatre and acting, which was nurtured during her time at the University of Delhi, where she graduated with a degree in English literature from Hans Raj College.
Sheeba's fascination with the entertainment industry led her to participate in several theatre workshops during her university days. Her passion for acting was evident, and she made her acting debut as Vasundhara in the Doordarshan television series Shri Krishna in 1993. This marked the beginning of her journey in the industry, which would soon see her appear in notable films like Dil Se.. in 1998.
Throughout her career, Sheeba has been a part of several successful projects, including Straight from the Heart in 1999, which was one of the highest-grossing Bollywood movies of its time. She took a brief hiatus from acting but returned to national television in June 2007 with the show Kasturi, playing the role of a business tycoon. She went on to appear in notable shows like Hitler Didi, Gubbare, Pavitra Rishta, and Na Aana Iss Des Laado, earning appreciation for her performances.
In 2011, Sheeba starred in Prakata Het Yad opposite Rituraj Singh, which won the Audience Choice Award at the River-to-River Festival under the Short Films category. She then played a sex worker in the high-grossing Bollywood film Talaash: The Answer Lies Within in 2012. Her subsequent projects included My Big Fat Bride in 2015, where she played the role of Buaji, and Permanent Roommates in 2014.
Sheeba's web series credits include Mirzapur, where she played the role of Vasudha Pandit, and Bandish Bandits in 2020. In 2022, she appeared in multiple Bollywood hits, including Phone Bhoot, Doctor G, Maja Ma, and Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2 - Agni Pariksha, solidifying her position as one of the most versatile and talented actresses in the industry.
