Shirley Bassey, a renowned vocalist, was born in the vibrant Tiger Bay neighborhood of Cardiff, Wales, and spent her formative years in the nearby working-class community of Splott. To support her family, Shirley began working at a young age, taking up a job at an Enamelware factory. Her professional debut came at the tender age of 16, when she appeared in a touring revue titled "Memories of Al Jolson."
