New York actor Shirley Roeca has enjoyed a remarkably successful career from the outset. Her first professional play was offered to her during her initial year as a graduate student at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, where she played a lead role as the daughter of "Hecuba" alongside Academy Award winners Olympia Dukakis and Viola Davis, earning her Equity card in the process.
The following year, she was invited to join the American Conservatory Theater's company of professional actors. After completing her contract, Shirley relocated to Los Angeles, where she landed her first SAG job, earning her SAG card in the process. She was then hired by accomplished director Andy Ackerman for her first television credit on a prime time comedy, working opposite Ted Danson.
Shirley was subsequently invited to participate in the prestigious CBS Diversity Showcase, where only 8 women and 10 men out of 3000 actors were selected to perform. Following this, she moved to New York City, where she began working with legendary agents Michael Hartig and Paul Hilepo. Paul has remained her manager to this day.
Since settling in NYC, Shirley has booked lead roles in theater, as well as recurring and guest star roles on numerous prime time television and cable shows. Her first guest star role was offered to her by Academy Award-winning film director Jonathan Demme on a CBS pilot, in which all of her scenes were opposite Patrick Wilson.
Shirley was also invited to participate in the prominent ABC Diversity Showcase in NYC, which has led to work on many notable prime time shows. In addition to her acting career, Shirley resides in NYC, enjoys playing tennis, and volunteers with Habitat for Humanity to build homes across the globe in places such as Mongolia and Asheville, NC.
