Simon is a multifaceted professional, boasting a remarkable career as a writer, producer, and executive producer within the film and television industry. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found UK-based drama production company Lookout Point in 2009, marking the beginning of a decade-long partnership with the BBC group, which ultimately resulted in the BBC acquiring 100% ownership of the company.
Throughout his tenure at Lookout Point, Simon oversaw the production of numerous notable projects, including Andrew Davies' acclaimed adaptations of War and Peace and Les Miserables for BBC One, as well as the critically acclaimed series Ripper Street, which aired on the BBC and Amazon. Additionally, he was involved in the production of Parade's End, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, for the BBC and HBO, Mike Bartlett's Press for BBC One and PBS, and Sally Wainwright's Gentleman Jack for BBC One and HBO.
After a decade of leading Lookout Point, Simon stepped down as Chairman and CEO in early 2019 to embark on a new venture, The Media Investment Company, co-founded with Helen Jackson and Jonathan Norman. This innovative venture aims to invest in building long-term businesses centered around creative individuals and teams, fostering a dynamic ecosystem that drives artistic and commercial success.
