Sofía Daccarett Char, a talented individual, was born on April 10, 1993, in the vibrant city of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She is the daughter of José F. Daccarett and Laura Char Carson, a Colombian-American couple. Through her mother's lineage, Sofia is connected to the esteemed Char family of Colombian politicians.
Sofía's early life was marked by a strong foundation in education. She attended St. Hugh School, followed by graduation from the prestigious Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart in Miami. Her academic pursuits continued as she enrolled in the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA),where she majored in communications with a minor in French.
As a teenager, Sofia's passion for the entertainment industry began to take shape. She attended the In Motion Dance Studio, where she was part of the IMPAC Youth Ensemble program. This marked the beginning of her journey as a singer-songwriter, which she officially pursued in 2012 after signing with Broadcast Music, Inc.
Sofía's television career took off in 2014, with appearances in episodes of Austin & Ally and Faking It. Her feature-length debut came in 2015, when she played the role of 'Evie' in the comedic fantasy television film Descendants. She reprised her role in the animated spin-off Descendants: Wicked World from 2015-2016, lending her voice to the character.
In the following years, Sofia continued to expand her acting portfolio. She appeared in Descendants 2: It's Going Down (2017) and Descendants 2 (2017),as well as lending her voice as 'Keemia' AKA 'Sand Girl' in the 2017 incarnation of the Marvel Comic superhero series Spider-Man. Sofía has also made a name for herself in the music industry. In 2015, she released her first album with Walt Disney Records for Descendants. The following year, she released her second album with WaterTower Music. In 2017, she released her third album with Walt Disney Records.
