Sohm Kapila, a multifaceted artist, was born in India and later raised in Nottingham, where her East Midland roots continue to remain close to her heart. She then ventured to London to hone her craft at Italia Conti, earning a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in Meisner Acting. Following her training, Sohm relocated to Los Angeles, where she currently resides.
As a talented performer, Sohm has been recognized as a BAFTA Connect member, class of 2023/24, for her emerging talent in the US. Prior to her move to LA, she had an impressive stage career, having participated in over 25 productions, including international tours and the award-winning Bend it Like Beckham the Musical on the West End. Her television credits include notable roles in BBC/ITV shows such as Waking the Dead, Coronation Street, and Paradox.
Since settling in the US, Sohm has expanded her repertoire to encompass a wide range of mediums, including film, television, theatre, animation, radio, gaming, and voice-over work. She has had the opportunity to collaborate with prominent brands and networks, including Warner Bros, Apple TV, FOX, CBS, CW, Universal, NBC, Pathé, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, ATG, BBC1, ITV, and BBC Worldwide.
In addition to her performing career, Sohm is also a creative force behind the camera. She has written, directed, and produced her own work, with her film "The Problem with Kaldeep" currently available on Amazon Prime and her short film "Ashes on the Highway" making the rounds on the festival circuit.
