Soledad O'Brien is a renowned American journalist, news anchor, and documentary producer. She is the anchor of CNN's morning show Starting Point with Soledad O'Brien and a special correspondent for CNN/U.S.
O'Brien has reported breaking news from around the world and produced award-winning documentaries on the most pressing issues of our time. Her reporting has covered a wide range of topics, including politics, education, and social justice. She has also written a critically-acclaimed memoir, The Next Big Story: My Journey through the Land of Possibilities, which chronicles her biggest reporting moments and how her upbringing and background have influenced these experiences.
O'Brien's documentaries have tackled a variety of subjects, including racism, inequality, and social justice. Some of her notable documentaries include Black in America: The New Promised Land - Silicon Valley, which profiles an accelerator program aimed at diversifying the technology industry; Latino in America 2: In Her Corner, which tells the story of a female flyweight fighter and U.S. Olympic hopeful; and Beyond Bravery: The Women of 9/11, which investigates the lives of female rescue workers who were the first to respond to the World Trade Center terrorist attacks.
