Sonny D'Angelo is a highly accomplished individual with an impressive 27-year career in the motion picture and television industry. Starting his journey in 1978 as a stuntman and actor, he has worked his way up to become a respected Stunt Coordinator, Second Unit Director, and actor, with notable credits in films such as Martin Scorsese's "Casino" and Walter Hill's "Last Man Standing".
Throughout his career, Sonny has demonstrated his versatility, taking on various roles in television shows like "Cagney and Lacey", "Hunter", "Moonlighting", "Murder She Wrote", "Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman", and "NYPD Blue". His feature film credits include Tim Burton's cult classic "Ed Wood" starring Johnny Depp, Martin Landau, and Bill Murray, as well as Warner Brother's "Trojan Wars" and Rysher Entertainment's "Destiny Turns on the Radio".
For the past eight years, Sonny has been working as a Stunt Coordinator and Second Unit Director on numerous feature films, including "Highway Murders", "Death Doll", "Stage Ghost", "Title to Murder", "Spiders 2", and "Tycus" starring Dennis Hopper. His expertise in stunt coordination and second unit direction has earned him recognition in the industry.
In addition to his work in film and television, Sonny is an expert horseman and experienced wrangler and cowboy. He has performed countless stunts involving horses and professional horsemanship skills, working closely with World Champion trick rider and stuntman Tad Griffith. Sonny's expertise in action sequences involving vehicles is also notable, having performed and coordinated numerous sequences utilizing precision driving, pipe ramps, cannons, power slides, and other techniques.
Sonny is also dedicated to using his platform to raise awareness about important social issues. Along with friends like actors Perry King and Isabella Hoffman, he wrote and directed commercials designed to bring attention to the staggering statistics on child abuse in the United States.
