Sophie, a talented individual, was born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, where she initially developed her passion for dance at the tender age of three. Throughout her childhood, she diligently trained in classical ballet, contemporary dance, and jazz, consistently performing and competing at both national and international levels. In 2012, Sophie's remarkable talent earned her a 4th place award at the National Young Performer of the Year Award, and she also made it to the semi-finals of the prestigious Genée International Ballet Competition, now known as the Margot Fontyne International Ballet Competition. Upon graduating from the Philippa Campbell School of Ballet in 2013, Sophie received a full scholarship to spend the summer at the esteemed Joffrey Ballet School in Manhattan, New York, where she was subsequently offered a place as a full-time classical student. Concurrently, Sophie secured a pivotal role as Honour Aleni on the beloved New Zealand television series Shortland Street, which premiered in 1992. As she delved deeper into the world of film and television, Sophie found herself torn between her dual passions for acting and dancing, ultimately deciding to split her time between these two pursuits while pursuing higher education.
