Sophie Simnett is a talented English actress, renowned for her captivating portrayal of Samaira Dean in the Netflix drama series Daybreak.
Born in London, Simnett's journey in the world of theatre began with her first performance in Jim Cartwright's 'Mobile Phone Show' at the Lyric, Hammersmith. This marked the start of a long-standing connection with the theatre, where she would later direct the production 'Rollercoaster'.
Simnett made her professional television debut in the BBC's Dickensian, before appearing in the 2016 film Mum's List, playing the younger version of Kate. Following this, she landed the role of Skye Hart on the Disney Channel musical drama series The Lodge, after an impressive thirteen auditions. She starred in the series from 2015 to 2018 and was featured on two accompanying soundtracks, as well as acting as a story consultant for the show.
In 2019, Simnett began starring in the Netflix drama series Daybreak, taking on the role of Samaira Dean. She then appeared in the Oliver Twist re-make 'Twist' alongside Michael Caine and Lena Headey, playing the character of 'Nancy/Red'.
Simnett's subsequent projects included starring as the lead in Renny Harlin's thriller 'The Refuge', as well as appearing in the Leonard Cohen biopic 'So Long, Marianne' and Gulfstream's romantic-comedy 'Falling'.
