Biography
Starr Andreeff is a multifaceted Canadian-American producer and manager who has made a significant impact in the entertainment industry. As the President of MJMG, she oversees the development of film, TV, and docuseries projects, while also representing talent in film, TV, music, licensing, and branding.
Early Years
Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Starr Andreeff's journey in the entertainment industry began at the tender age of eight, when she started as a child actor. By the time she was 15, she had already gained recognition as a semi-finalist in the Miss Teen Canada Pageant, and at 17, she was crowned Miss Dominion of Canada.
Career
Andreeff's acting career has been marked by numerous lead roles in film and TV. One of her notable roles was as a lead in the successful Amityville film series, titled Amityville Dollhouse. She also had recurring roles as assistant district attorney, Jessica Holmes, on the popular daytime soap opera General Hospital, as well as Sabrina Cross on Falcon Crest. In addition, she made guest appearances on The Golden Girls and The Facts of Life.
Music Industry
Starr Andreeff's foray into the music industry began with the development of her first music project, teen boy band No Authority. The group's success caught the attention of Michael Jackson and Madonna, leading to their signing with Michael Jackson's label, MJJ/Sony, and Madonna's Maverick Records, as well as Smash Music, Starr's music management company. Noted producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins wrote and produced their first record. With No Authority, Starr has collaborated closely with Nickelodeon and Disney.
Current Projects
As an executive producer with AGC Film Studios in Los Angeles, Starr is currently working on the life story of Lauren Simmons, the youngest, African American female to work on the floor at the Stock Exchange/Wall Street and break down the glass ceiling. In addition, she has developed numerous TV projects that are set to go to market with top production companies in the US and Canada. Andreeff has also created, produced, and starred in a 4-part special series titled "Child Star" that aired on Canada's Slice Network (Shaw Media).
