Steve Kearney is a renowned Australian comedian, actor, and writer, best known for being one half of the legendary comedy duo LosTrios Ringbarkus. The duo toured extensively throughout the 1980s, performing at numerous prestigious festivals and theaters around the world, including the London Mime Festival, Shaffer Theatre in Amsterdam, and the Edinburgh Festival, where they won the prestigious Perrier Award in 1983.
After the duo disbanded, Steve went on to pursue a successful solo career, starring in several films and television shows, including the Australian classic "Ricky and Pete" and the TV sitcom pilot for the Australian Broadcasting Commission. He also worked on various projects with notable talents such as Michael Varhole, Sam Raimi, and Anthony Edwards.
Steve later formed a new production company, Mini Studios, with his partner Leanne Tonkes, and developed several feature films and children's TV projects. The company has secured funding for numerous projects, including "Rob The Robot," which is currently in production in Singapore, and "Debra The Zebra," a children's show that has been co-produced with Canadian outfit Amberwood Entertainment.
Steve has also worked on various projects in the TV Sit COM genre, including pilots for NBC and Fox TV, and has guest-starred in several popular shows, including "Friends," "Ned and Stacy," and "Jag." He has also collaborated with Shelley Duvall on the project "Rock and Roll Mother Goose" and with Anthony Edwards on his directorial debut "Charles Ghost Story" with Cheech Marin.
In addition to his work in film and television, Steve has also directed several live comedy shows, including "Coo Coo Bananas" and "Survival Of the Phattest," which premiered at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. He has also attended various conferences and workshops, including the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco and the Toronto Film Finance Forum, reflecting his diverse skills in multi-platform strategies.
Steve has also worked on various projects with Hollywood script doctors and writers, including Michael Hague and Larry Karesewski, and has attended the Script Factory, Arista Script Workshops, and Spark Workshops through Screen Australia to refine his script analysis talents.
In 2007, Steve teamed up with long-time co-writer and friend Chris Adams to form Adams Kearney, a production company that aims to bring international features with Australian creative's at the core of the vision to a global audience. The company has a diverse slate of spec projects from young Australian writers, as well as a first-look deal with US producer Warren Zide.
