Stephen Kramer Glickman was born on March 17th, 1979, in London, Ontario, Canada, but spent his formative years growing up in Carlsbad, California, where he developed a passion for live theatre and collected Star Wars toys. With roots tracing back to Russian Jewish descent, Stephen is deeply involved in the Los Angeles Jewish community and the Anti-Defamation League. He is particularly close to his mother, a 19-year cancer survivor, who resides in San Diego with her menagerie of animals, including a horse, sheep, goat, and a 150-pound pig. His sister, Natalie London, is a talented author and musician.
Stephen's motherly influence played a significant role in shaping his career, as he sits on the board of entertainment directors for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and was recently nominated for "Man of the Year" by the organization.
Following his education at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the American Musical Dramatic Academy in New York City, Stephen began his journey in stand-up comedy, which led to his breakthrough role on NBC's "Last Comic Standing." Shortly after, he was cast as Shrek in the Broadway Musical, "Shrek The Musical," working alongside esteemed individuals such as Jeffrey Katzenberg, David Geffen, and Sam Mendes.
This success was followed by a recurring role on the ABC Television series "Carpoolers" alongside fellow Canadians Bruce McCulloch and Scott Thompson.
Stephen's career experienced a significant surge when he was cast as the lead role of Gustavo Rocque on Nickelodeon's series, "Big Time Rush." The series premiere garnered the highest-rated and most-watched live-action debut in the network's history, with 6.8 million total viewers. As a result, Stephen became a celebrity presenter at The Kids Choice Awards and helped win a nomination for best series.
Currently, Stephen is set to star as Pigeon Toady in the upcoming Warner Brothers animated film "Storks," directed by Nick Stoller and Doug Sweetland. The film boasts an impressive cast, including Andy Samberg, Jennifer Aniston, Keegan Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Kelsey Grammer, and more. This marks Stephen's first animated film and his first theatrical film.
When not working on his various projects, Stephen can often be found performing stand-up comedy at the Hollywood Improv, Upright Citizens Brigade, IO West, The Laugh Factory, and The Comedy Store. Additionally, he produces and hosts The Night Time Show at The Hollywood Improv once a month on Saturday nights, which is the only live late-night show in Los Angeles. The show has featured a wide range of guests, including Harland Williams, Nick Swardson, Laurie Kilmartin, Tom Segura, and Dane Cook, among many others.
