Stephen Shortridge was born in the state of Iowa, where his artistic talents first began to flourish, and later spent his formative years in the sun-kissed landscape of Southern California.
Throughout his academic journey, Stephen consistently excelled in the realm of art, with a primary focus on commercial art. However, it was during his time at Idaho State University, where he was a Water Polo Scholarship recipient and an All-American, that he first discovered his passion for painting.
While his initial foray into acting brought him a sense of excitement, Stephen ultimately found that painting offered a deeper sense of creative satisfaction. The freedom to express himself without boundaries is what truly drives him as an artist.
Stephen's artistic style is deeply influenced by the French Impressionists, with Claude Monet being a particular source of inspiration. Yet, his use of vibrant colors and bold brushstrokes has established him as a unique voice in the world of American Romantic Impressionism.
His impressive list of collectors includes the talented Patty Duke, the legendary Donna Summer, and the renowned Rick Dees. During his time in Los Angeles, Stephen had the opportunity to exhibit his work alongside fellow actor and artist, Peter Falk.
Stephen's impressive resume boasts over 50 commercials, with a 15-year period of work that includes iconic campaigns for Mennen, Speedstick, Coke, Certs, and Head and Shoulders, among others. Today, Stephen resides with his family in Idaho, where he continues to draw inspiration from the natural beauty that surrounds him.
