Steve Cirbus was born and raised in western New York, approximately 40 miles south of Buffalo, where he developed a strong foundation for his future endeavors.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre from Buffalo State College, after which he was awarded a prestigious scholarship to attend Ohio University, where he went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts in Acting under the esteemed guidance of Barbara Redmond.
Following his time at Ohio University, Steve spent a year as an artist in residence at the Tony Award-winning Cincinnati Playhouse, where he honed his craft under the tutelage of renowned theatre professionals Ed Stern and Charles Towers.
As a classical actor, Steve embarked on a professional career that saw him spending most of his time performing Shakespearean roles in some of the oldest and most esteemed Shakespeare festivals and regional theaters on the east coast and in the Midwest.
After leaving a teaching assignment in Ohio, Steve immersed himself in the vibrant independent film community in New York City, where he worked on various projects, eventually gaining recognition from NBC and landing a guest role on Law & Order: Criminal Intent alongside Vincent D'Onofrio and Chris Noth.
In 2004, Steve brought his innovative idea for "Beat", a film centered around a bare-knuckled prize fighter, to Fade To Black Films, which later produced the project. The film has since received numerous award nominations and remains the company's flagship endeavor.
In 2005, Steve was awarded the prestigious title of Best Breakout Action Star by The Action On Film International Film Festival in Long Beach, California, solidifying his status as a talented and versatile actor.
