Steve Le Marquand was born in Perth, Western Australia in the year 1967. His family's relocation to Sydney soon followed, where he completed his schooling. After working his way around Australia on a motorbike for a period of two years, Steve pursued his passion for acting by studying at Penrith's Theatre Nepean in Sydney's outer west. His initial professional gig was a television commercial for Arnott's Ruffles, which unfortunately was banned just a day after its release due to controversy.
Since then, Steve has secured numerous guest and lead roles in many Australian television series, as well as appearing in several films both domestically and internationally. His extensive filmography can be found on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb).
On stage, Steve has had the opportunity to perform in a wide range of productions, including Death Of A Salesman, Summer Of The Seventeenth Doll, Paul, The Spook, Buried Child, and Waiting For Godot for Company B Belvoir. He has also appeared in various shows for the Sydney Theatre Company (The War Of The Roses, The Serpent's Teeth, Gallipoli, Tales From the Vienna Woods, Holy Day, and Don's Party) and for Griffin (The Return and Songket). Steve was a proud member of the Sydney Theatre Company's elite Actors' Company from 2007 to 2009.
In addition to his acting work, Steve co-wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the highly acclaimed theatre show He Died With A Felafel In His Hand, which is based on the book by John Birmingham. The production has enjoyed a remarkable run, premiering at the Bridge Hotel in Rozelle in 1995 and subsequently touring cities around the world, including Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne, New York, Toronto, Edinburgh, and Wagga Wagga.
Steve currently resides on the Central Coast of New South Wales with his partner, Pippa Grandison, and their daughter Charlie. When not working, Steve is an avid fan of cricket and rugby league, and can often be found cheering on his beloved Penrith Panthers.
