Steven Yeun, a talented individual, was born in Seoul, South Korea, to June and Je Yeun, his loving parents. His family's initial immigration to Canada lasted for a period of one year before they made the move to the United States. He has a brother named Brian, who is also an important part of his life.
During his time at Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Steven discovered his passion for acting. He was a psychology major, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 2005. However, as he delved deeper into his love for acting, he decided to pursue theatre studies instead of attending medical school.
As a member of Stir Friday Night, a sketch-comedy group comprised of Asian-American performers, Steven honed his acting skills. He was also a part of the Second City comedy troupe in Chicago, where he further developed his talents. His early acting credits include roles in The Big Bang Theory, Jerry, and various commercials for prominent brands such as Best Buy, Apple, and Milky Way.
