Taja V. Simpson, a Louisiana native of West African and European descent, brings a colorful background to her acting, constantly creating new characters. She fell in love with acting at seven, playing pretend with cousins, watching movies, and reciting lines. Her favorite was Berry Gordy's "The Last Dragon," and she still remembers all the lines: "Who's The Master? Sho-Nuff!"
Growing up in Lake Charles, Louisiana, she didn't have access to acting programs or schools, so she pursued a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass Communication and Broadcast Journalism from McNeese State University. After college, she moved to Houston, Texas, and despite having a successful news reporting and anchoring career path, she couldn't shake off her passion for acting. She enrolled in acting workshops, winning three awards, and her journey as an actress began.
Taja's versatility led her to guest star in various roles on popular TV shows, including The Bold & The Beautiful, Grey's Anatomy, NCIS, The Thundermans, NCIS:LA, The Soul Man, KC Undercover, and Lethal Weapon. She received a breakout role in The Bold & The Beautiful, recurred for over two years, and also appeared in Tyler Perry's "Tyler Perry's Boo2! A Madea Halloween" and BET's "The Oval" as Priscilla Owen.
As a film director, Taja has over 40 productions under her belt, including stage plays, music videos, and short films. She is set to direct her first feature and television projects. Her work can be seen in Christopher Nolan's "My Online Valentine" on Amazon, a Romantic Comedy, and upcoming films on Netflix, Amazon, and iTunes.
Taja has also written a book, "Cracking The Acting Code: A Practical Step By Step Guide To Becoming A Professional Actor," sharing her unique story and expertise. Her hobbies include writing, watching and studying films, learning new words, and cooking. She enjoys spending time with her dogs, working out, boxing, traveling, and learning new things.
