Tandi Wright is a talented actress born in Zambia to New Zealand parents Vernon Wright and Dinah Priestley. Growing up in Wellington, New Zealand, she attended Wellington High School and Victoria University of Wellington before pursuing her passion for acting at Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School, graduating with a degree in 1994.
Her family background is notable, with her father Vernon Wright being a former journalist for "The Listener" based in Zambia, and her mother Dinah Priestley being a writer and actress in Wellington. Tandi has two sisters, Nikki and Justine, with Nikki serving as a political advisor to the Department of Conservation and Justine working as a film editor.
Tandi's early career in television began in 1995, where she played the role of nurse Caroline Buxton in the popular New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street. Her subsequent television roles include Crash Palace, Power Rangers S.P.D., Seven Periods with Mr Gormsby, The Lost Children, Nothing Trivial, The Returned, and Creamerie.
In addition to her television work, Tandi has also appeared in several films, including the horror-comedy Black Sheep, the drama Out of the Blue, the fantasy adventure Jack the Giant Slayer, the drama The Rehearsal, the adventure-comedy Love and Monsters, and the critically acclaimed horror film Pearl, directed by Ti West, where she plays the role of Mia Goth's mother.
