Aaron Dontez Yates, a talented rapper, was born on November 8th, 1971, in the vibrant city of Kansas City, Missouri. From a young age, Aaron utilized rap as a tool to hone his skills in spelling his name and practicing arithmetic. This innovative approach not only helped him master the fundamentals but also sparked his passion for music.
In 1988, Aaron chose to adopt the stage name Tech N9ne, a moniker that would soon become synonymous with his unique style and flair. Fast forward to 1996, Tech N9ne signed with Qwest Records, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his career. Over the next few years, he released two albums with the label, honing his craft and building a loyal fan base.
However, in 1999, Tech N9ne was released from his contract with Qwest Records, giving him the opportunity to explore new creative avenues. In 2001, he signed with JCOR and even launched his own label, Strange Music Inc. During his time with JCOR, Tech N9ne released one album before deciding that the label wasn't aligned with his artistic vision.
Undeterred, Tech N9ne teamed up with MSC Entertainment in 2002, releasing another album that showcased his continued growth and evolution as an artist. Since then, he has released an astonishing 17 albums, with the most recent one dropping on September 9th, 2016. Throughout his illustrious career, Tech N9ne has consistently pushed the boundaries of hip-hop, earning him a devoted following and cementing his status as a true innovator in the genre.
