Person Biography:
Thom was born into a family of performers, with his mother being an actress. He was bitten by the acting bug at the tender age of three and began playing child roles in plays such as "To Be Young, Gifted and Black" and "Medea" at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Growing up, Thom was a multi-talented individual, excelling in both academics and athletics. He was a standout in basketball and track at Wilde Lake High School in Columbia, Maryland, earning the nickname "HOLLYWOOD" from his coaches.
After graduating from high school, Thom took a detour from his true calling and attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science.
Thom eventually gave in to his artistic impulses and moved to Hollywood to pursue his dream of becoming a full-time actor. He guest-starred on several TV shows, including "The Parkers" and "Good Eats," and co-starred on "CSI: MIAMI," "ANGEL," and "Crossing Jordan."
In addition to his work in television, Thom also landed roles in several independent feature films, including "Truth Hall" and "Straight Outta Tompkins," which was produced by Robby Benson.
Thom is also the founder and CEO of The Black Gents of Hollywood (TBGH),an award-winning entertainment company that he founded in Hollywood. TBGH has produced several theatrical productions, including the Off-Broadway award-winning play "WEBEIME," for which Thom received a Planet Connections Outstanding Lead Actor nomination.
In New York City, Thom produced and starred in the Off-Broadway hit play "Black Angels Over Tuskegee," which earned him two NAACP Theatre Award nominations and an ADA for Best Play. The play was also nominated for Best Long Running Show by the Off-Broadway Alliance.
After returning to Atlanta, Thom continued to work as a successful full-time actor, co-starring on several TV shows, including the Golden Globe-winning and Emmy Award-nominated "Atlanta," Showtime's "HOMELAND," CBS's "MacGyver," CMT's "Nashville," and NBC's "CONSTANTINE."
Thom has also appeared in over 20 commercials, co-starring with Charles Barkley in a Capital One spot and portraying an iconic character for the GA Lottery's Dream Delivery Team's multi-media campaign.
In addition to his work in the entertainment industry, Thom is the founder and head instructor of the ACTORS' GYM, a successful acting school in Atlanta where he teaches other aspiring actors how to strengthen their artistic gifts.
