Tim, a highly accomplished and influential figure in the world of theatre, served as the producing artistic director emeritus of East West Players (EWP) for an impressive 23 years, making him the longest-running professional theatre of color in the United States.

During his remarkable tenure, he demonstrated his remarkable range and versatility as a producer and director by bringing to life over 100 plays and musicals at EWP, as well as at other esteemed venues that showcase the highest standards of artistic excellence.

These notable institutions include L.A. Theatre Works, a renowned organization dedicated to preserving and presenting classic and contemporary plays; PanAsian Repertory (NY),a pioneering theatre company that celebrates the diversity of Asian American experiences; Geva Theater Center (NY),a respected institution that produces a wide range of productions, from classic dramas to innovative new works; Perseverance Theatre (AK),a theatre company that is dedicated to producing new and innovative works, as well as reimagining classic plays; Lewis Family Playhouse, a popular venue that offers a diverse range of productions, from musicals to dramas; Sierra Madre Playhouse (CA),a historic playhouse that has been a mainstay of the community for over 80 years; and Singapore Repertory Theatre, a world-class theatre company that produces a wide range of productions, from classic plays to contemporary musicals.

Tim's extensive portfolio extends beyond his work in the theatre, as he has also held a significant role in the LA County government. He was appointed by Supervisor Hilda Solis to serve as an LA County Arts Commissioner for District 1, a position that not only showcased his dedication to the arts but also his commitment to serving the community.

As Co-Chair of the Cultural Equity and Inclusion Initiative (CEII) for the LA County Board of Supervisors, Tim played a pivotal role in promoting diversity and inclusivity within the arts sector. This esteemed position allowed him to utilize his expertise and passion for the arts to drive positive change and create a more equitable environment for all.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Tim's leadership skills were once again put to the test as he took on the role of Arts and Culture sector leader for the Economic Resiliency Task Force. In this capacity, he worked tirelessly to support the arts and cultural community, helping them navigate the challenges posed by the pandemic and ensuring their continued viability and success.

Tim has had a profound impact on the educational landscape as a seasoned educator, dedicating himself to empowering the next generation of artists with his wealth of knowledge and expertise. For a significant six-year period, he held the esteemed position of adjunct lecturer at the prestigious USC School of Dramatic Arts, where he played a pivotal role in guiding and mentoring emerging artists in the realms of directing and dramaturgy.
