Tim Prokop embarked on his television career immediately after graduating from college, securing a position as an in-house scriptwriter and storyliner for the highly acclaimed Australian drama series Sons & Daughters. For two years, he honed his skills in the writer's room, before transitioning to the hit dating series Perfect Match, where he was promoted to Head Writer.
Following his return to his birthplace in the United States, Tim collaborated with the visual effects artists at Showscan, designing and scripting theme park attractions for Showscan, Universal Studios, Art & Technology, and Six Flags, including the renowned Space Shuttle America simulator ride. After a two-year stint in video game design on a US-Japanese co-production, Tim returned to television with GRB Studios, where he wrote and produced the Discovery series Movie Magic, the AMC series Cinema Secrets, and numerous feature documentaries, formats, clip shows, docuseries, and reality shows under the guidance of Gary Benz.
In his spare time, Tim pursued his passion for film by interviewing industry professionals and writing and producing behind-the-scenes features and making-of-documentaries for major films such as Lord of the Rings, Gone in Sixty Seconds, The Hours, Shanghai Noon, and many of Jerry Bruckheimer's films.
Through his work, Tim established himself as a well-respected show-runner and development executive, creating and writing, directing, and producing several hit series. Notable among his produced series are Forecast Earth, which launched a franchise for GRB, Weather, and NOAA; Untold Stories of the ER, a hit for TLC; Deadliest Warrior, which became the number one non-sports series to ever air on Spike (now Paramount+); and FantomWorks, which became the number one series on Motor Trend in its second season.
Throughout his 15-year career, Tim has worked for multiple ReelScreen Top 100 production companies, and his shows, series, and videos have appeared on TNT, Discovery, History, TLC, Weather, Travel, National Geographic, Spike, AMC, Disney, Network 10 Australia, and Network 7 Australia.
As a writer first and foremost, Tim is a constant innovator who combines his love for storytelling with his passion for science and technology.
