Biography

TIMM was born in Bad Ischl, Austria, and his life took a significant turn when his family emigrated to Toronto, Canada, when he was just five years old. This pivotal move would ultimately shape his future and lay the foundation for the person he would become today.

As a high school student, TIMM was an accomplished track athlete, specializing in the 400 meters for the Toronto Track Club, and competing in the sprints for his school. His academic prowess was equally impressive, as he graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1968, and later earned a Master of Education in Communications and Culture from York University in 1973.

TIMM's academic journey didn't stop there, as he went on to complete his coursework for a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Communications and Culture from York University in 2010. During his time at the Ontario College of Art, he taught and worked on the research staff of the LaMarsh Commission on Media Violence, further honing his skills and expertise.

In the late 1970s, TIMM embarked on a 10-year career in advertising, which allowed him to develop his creative talents and showcase his versatility. However, his passion for the performing arts never wavered, and he continued to nurture his comedic skills by performing as part of a comedy duo on the Yuk Yuks circuit and at independent clubs in Canada and the United States.

TIMM's love for acting was evident, as he took classes with renowned instructors Sears and Switzer, as well as at the Maggie Basset Studio of the Tarragon Theatre. This dedication ultimately led him to make the bold decision to quit his day job and pursue a full-time acting career on his 40th birthday.

Since then, TIMM has appeared in numerous film and television productions, and has written and performed in hundreds of interactive Murder Mysteries and Corporate events. One of his earliest and most memorable roles was on DeGrassi Junior High, a show that has left a lasting impact on his career and personal life. To this day, he is often stopped on the street by fans who nostalgically remember him as Wheels' Dad, a testament to the enduring power of his work.
