Tommie Lee Vasquez, born Tommie Vegas, is a talented individual with a rich heritage. Her parents, Tommy Vasquez and Sandra Lee Vasquez, welcomed her into the world in Downey, California, where she spent her early years. However, her family soon relocated to El Monte, California, before eventually settling in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she would spend her childhood.
From a young age, Tommie was exposed to the entertainment world through her mother's involvement in baby pageants. By the time she was just seven years old, she had already begun to pursue her passion for gymnastics, participating in recitals and performances. As she entered middle school, she discovered her love for choir and the end-of-year Disney musicals they would perform.
Tommie's involvement in dance during this period ultimately led her to audition and join her high school's dance team. She went on to perform with them extensively, even being selected as an American All-Star dance member from the American All Star Dance Company. Additionally, she joined her church's theater group, which marked the beginning of her realization that acting was her true calling.
Tommie's family ties to the entertainment industry are undeniable, as she is the cousin of Pat Vegas and Lolly Vegas, the frontmen of the renowned rock band Redbone, which was the first All-Native American rock band. As a registered member of The Chemehuevi Indian Tribe, Tommie is deeply inspired by her cousin's dedication to their Native roots and is committed to carrying on the Vegas name in her acting career.
Tommie's ultimate goal is to break down barriers for Native American actors and filmmakers, while showcasing the beauty and richness of Native American culture. She hopes to inspire a new generation of Native American performers and creators, shattering the stereotypes that have long been associated with Native American culture.
