Tony Amendola is a seasoned veteran of the film and television industry, boasting a career spanning nearly four decades. His notable film credits include Ted Demme's Blow, starring Johnny Depp, as well as Martin Campbell's The Mask of Zorro, alongside Anthony Hopkins and Antonio Banderas. He has also appeared in John Sayles's Lone Star, alongside Chris Cooper.
In addition to his film work, Amendola has had recurring roles on several television shows, including ABC's Once Upon a Time, where he played the iconic Gepetto, as well as Edouard Kagame in Continuum and Master Bra-tac in STARGATE SG1. His television guest appearances include roles on Blackbird, Law and Order, Dexter, Seinfeld, The Practice, Will & Grace, and Shooter.
Prior to his work in film and television, Amendola spent the first 12 years of his professional life in the theatre. He appeared Off-Broadway in an acclaimed production of Filumena and took on leading roles on the stages of America's top regional theatres, including the Mark Taper Forum, Berkeley Repertory, American Conservatory Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Utah Shakespeare, La Jolla Playhouse, and the Old Globe. His stage credits include Cyrano, Iago, Uncle Vanya, Shylock, Salieri, and Lear, as well as Disney's Hell premiere and First Night series, featuring Stravinsky's Rite of Spring.
Amendola's voice-over and motion-capture work includes recurring roles in World Of Warcraft, Black OPS, and Star Wars: Fallen Jedi. He is also a founding member and past Co-Artistic Director of the Antaeus company, a respected Los Angeles theatre dedicated to producing the Classics.
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Amendola grew up in a blue-collar family and was the first member of his family to attend college. He relocated to the West Coast to pursue his dreams and currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife.
