Tony Craig, a Trinidad-born performer, has made a name for himself through his multifaceted talents. As a musician, he has had the privilege of sharing the stage with renowned artists such as Ben E King, Etta James, Martha Reeves, Mary Wells, Sam and Dave, The Mighty Sparrow, and many others. His skills as a songwriter and session musician have also led to collaborations with notable artists like Dominic Troiano, Eddie Schwartz, Carol Pope, Rough Trade, Dan Hill, and numerous others.
Craig's journey to Canada was sparked by his desire to expand his career. He relocated to the Far North, where he found success as a band member. In a humorous anecdote, he revealed that his rendition of the classic "White Christmas" took on new meaning once he experienced the harsh Canadian climate firsthand. Despite the initial novelty wearing off, Tony has grown to appreciate the cold weather.
A chance encounter with the film industry came about when Tony's recording studio in Toronto was burglarized. To take his mind off the setback, his girlfriend suggested he accompany her to a movie set as an extra. Little did he know that this experience would lead to a new career path. Tony was soon offered a larger role in John Grin's Christmas, alongside Robert Guillaume, Geoffrey Holder, and Roscoe Lee Brown.
Over the next decade, Tony appeared as a guest star in various television series, including Forever Knight, Tekwar, Kung Fu: the Legend Continues, and Top Cops. His film credits include Disney's The Ref and Soul Survivor. Most recently, he starred in the Showtime cable movie The Sweetest Gift, where he played a biker and romantic interest opposite Tisha Campbell, Dian Carol, and Helen Shaver.
