Tracee Chimo Pallero was born Tracee Ann Chimo to parents Deborah and Bruce Chimo in Saugus, a small town just north of Boston, Massachusetts. She has Albanian, Irish, and Italian ancestry. Her younger brother is Kevin Chimo.
As a talented actress, Tracee has received widespread acclaim for her diverse roles on the New York stage. She has achieved significant success in the past few years, impressing audiences and critics alike.
Her career began in 2009 when she originated the role of Lauren, a shy and lovable 16-year-old, in Annie Baker's "circle mirror transformation." Her physical comedy and emotional depth earned her praise and recognition, with the NY Times describing her as "a master of the comic-silent reaction."
After a successful run at Playwrights Horizons, Tracee stunned audiences with her transformation into Reagan, a complex and dark character, in Leslye Headland's "Bachelorette." She then made her film debut in Judd Apatow's "The Five-Year Engagement" (2012) and spent some time working in Los Angeles, California.
She soon returned to the stage, starring opposite Jim Parsons and Jessica Hecht in Roundabout Theatre Company's 2012 production of "Harvey" on Broadway. Tracee played the role of Myrtle Mae Simmons, a love-hungry character, and received positive reviews.
Her breakthrough role came when she was cast as Daphna Feygenbaum, the antagonist, in Roundabout's dark comedy "Bad Jews." After her successful run, she went on to film more movies and had a recurring role on Netflix's hit show "Orange is the New Black" as Neri Feldman.
She has also appeared in "The Good Wife" and remounted "Bad Jews," which was transferred to the Laura Pels Theatre in New York City. Tracee has received numerous awards and nominations, including the 2013 Rising Star Award, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League Awards, and the 2011 Clarence Derwent Award for "Most Promising Actress in New York."
