Travis Fimmel was born in the picturesque region of Echuca, Victoria, Australia, to a mother, Jennie, who worked as a recreation officer for the disabled, and a father, Chris, who was a cattle farmer. Growing up on a vast 5500-acre station situated between Melbourne and Sydney, Travis's early life was marked by a harmonious blend of school and farm work, a routine he still cherishes during his visits back home.
After completing his high school education, Travis received an acceptance letter from Melbourne University, which marked the beginning of his academic journey. However, his intense curiosity soon led him to embark on a global adventure.
While working as a bartender in London, Travis met his future manager, David Seltzer, who was impressed by his charisma and encouraged him to pursue a career in acting in the United States. Travis was easily swayed by the allure of the arts and made the move to Los Angeles, where he began studying with renowned acting coach Ivana Chubbuck. Chubbuck, who has mentored several A-list celebrities, including Jake Gyllenhaal, Eva Mendes, Halle Berry, Brad Pitt, and Charlize Theron, played a significant role in shaping Travis's acting skills.
Years of perseverance and hard work have paid off for Travis, who has landed starring roles in several projects, including Rocky Point, Southern Comfort, Restraint, Ivory, Surfer Dude, and AE's The Beast. He is perhaps best known for his iconic roles as Ragnar Lothbrok in Vikings (2013) and Anduin Lothar in Warcraft (2016).
Throughout his career, Travis has had the opportunity to travel extensively, but he always makes it a point to return to his family's farm as often as possible. When asked about his sources of inspiration, Travis credits his love for Australian Rules Football, the countryside, his two older brothers, and a strong work ethic for keeping his feet firmly grounded.
