Truly, originally from Marietta, Georgia, was born into a family with a strong affinity for the arts. Her father, a commercial pilot for Eastern Airlines, would often regale her with stories of his adventures, while her mother, a figure skater and speech consultant, was instrumental in nurturing Truly's passion for performing.
Truly's early years were marked by a love for the stage, and she began performing at the tender age of three in every theatrical production at The Walker School. Her involvement in the performing arts continued to grow, and she also discovered her love for dance, which would become a lifelong discipline.
As she entered her teenage years, Truly signed with Atlanta Models and Talent, allowing her to explore her passion for screen acting. She relocated to southern California, where she continued to hone her craft by performing in school and community theatre productions.
Truly's academic pursuits took her to Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Drama. During her time at Pepperdine, she had the opportunity to perform in various productions, direct plays, and even found an annual dance showcase called "Dance In Flight," which has continued to thrive to this day.
After graduating, Truly furthered her education by studying with Anthony Meindl's inaugural class at The Complex in Hollywood, as well as at his Actor's Lab on Melrose. Her extensive training allowed her to continue acting in regional theatre, television, and film.
Throughout her career, Truly has had the privilege of working on a variety of projects, including network and cable shows such as "Criminal Minds," "This Is Us," Showtime's "Shameless," Netflix's "Girlboss," and Comedy Central's "Corporate." In addition to her acting endeavors, Truly has also pursued her passion for music by becoming the lead singer of a 70's rock cover band called "Stone Groove."
