Vanessa Angel, a British-born actress, began her career at the tender age of 14 as a model, when she was discovered by the renowned agent, Eileen Ford. With her early start in the industry, she gained a wealth of life experience by traveling the world, relocating to New York, and appearing on numerous magazine covers, including the prestigious "Vogue" and "Cosmopolitan".
As she transitioned from modeling to acting, Angel was chosen by director John Landis to play a Russian spy in the 1985 film "Spies Like Us". She honed her craft by studying with the esteemed Sondra Lee and became a member of The Actor's Studio in New York in 1987, where she studied under the guidance of Frank Corsaro. This marked the beginning of her journey in the world of film, with notable roles in movies such as "King of New York" (1990),"Sleep with Me" (1994),and "Kingpin" (1996),alongside Woody Harrelson and Bill Murray.
Angel's impressive range of characters earned her critical recognition for her comedic timing, and she has played numerous roles on television, including a recurring role as police officer "Peggy Elliot" on NBC's "Reasonable Doubts" (1991) alongside Mark Harmon and Marlee Matlin. In addition to her film work, Angel has appeared in several Lifetime movies, including "Criminal Intent" (2005) and "Blind Ambition" (2008),and has recently completed the films "Lycan" (2017) and "Trouble Sleeping" (2018). She has also reconnected with The Farrelly Brothers in "Hall Pass" (2011) and made a memorable guest appearance in Showtime's "Californication" (2007).
In her personal life, Vanessa Angel is a devoted mother to her daughter, India Otto, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Rick Otto.
