Biography

Born in the vibrant city-state of Singapore, Vanessa embarked on her academic journey at Nanyang Technological University, where she earned her degree in English Literature and minored in Drama and Performance in 2011. Prior to her university days, she had already gained valuable experience in the performing arts, participating in junior college and university plays. Her passion for theatre led her to join the prestigious Singapore Repertory Theatre's Young Company in 2010, where she spent two formative years honing her craft.

As her acting career took off, Vanessa's theatre credits expanded to include notable productions such as "Love & Other Oddities" with Theatre Lab Productions, "Grimm Tales" with Singapore Repertory Theatre, "Ai Si" with Little Red Shop, "Off Centre" and "Fat Pig" with Yellow Chair Productions, and "ABCD: FourPlays" with Theatreworks and Vertical Submarine.

Vanessa's versatility as an actress was also showcased in her television work, where she guest-starred in popular local dramas such as "Code of Law", "In Cold Blood", "Spouse for House", and "Rules of Tham". Her digital footprint was further solidified with appearances in the award-winning webseries "What Do Men Want" and the popular local webseries "Get Social", in which she took on a lead role.

In 2013, Vanessa made her big-screen debut with Ken Kwek's critically acclaimed film "Sex.Violence.Family Values", playing the role of a teenage pole-dancer. Her upcoming projects include a lead role in Netflix's highly anticipated series "Marco Polo", set to premiere on December 12th, 2014.

Beyond her acting pursuits, Vanessa has also established herself as a skilled host and TV presenter. Her presenting credits include reality singing competition "The Final 1" with Mediacorp, "Lunchtime Primetime" with Toggle Eve, "The Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore" with SuperSports Arena, BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore with World Sport Group and WTA, and a regular stint as a presenter on Fox Sports Asia in 2014.
