Vanness Wu, a talented individual of Chinese (Taiwanese) American descent, was born in the picturesque city of Santa Monica, California. As a sporty and energetic person, he has always been passionate about playing sports and leading an active lifestyle. His impressive vocal skills were honed during his time as a member of the popular boy band F4, also known as JVKV, where he showcased his exceptional dancing abilities.
Vanness's musical journey began at a young age, and he was part of a band called L.A Boyz, a former US Taiwanese boyband. He has also made a notable appearance in Run DMC's music video "It's Like That". With his cheerful and outgoing personality, he is often seen beaming with a happy-go-lucky smile.
At the age of 18, Vanness relocated to Taiwan, where he pursued his passion for music and acting. His parents, particularly his father, played a significant role in shaping his life, naming him after the street they used to live on. His family consists of his mother, father, older sister, younger brother, and younger sister, Melody.
Throughout his career, Vanness has been a part of numerous successful projects, including the popular Taiwanese drama "Meteor Garden", as well as other notable shows such as "Come To My Place", "Peach Girl", "Meteor Garden II", "Say Yes Enterprise", "WIsh to See You Again", "Three Kingdoms-Resurrection of the Dragon", "Kung Fu Chefs", and "The Year of the Rain". In 2009, he was voted the best of all of Taiwan for his performance in "Autumn's Concerto".
Currently, Vanness is working on a Chinese drama in Paris, and he has also released several Japanese and Chinese albums. In his free time, he enjoys collecting anime and Japanese comic characters, showcasing his eclectic interests.
