Vsevolod Safonov, a renowned artist, received the esteemed title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR on November 26, 1965, and later, on March 28, 1974, he was conferred the prestigious title of People's Artist of the RSFSR.
As the war drew to a close, Safonov completed his education at the Aviation Technical School, but unfortunately, a medical commission deemed him unfit for military service. This unexpected turn of events would ultimately shape the course of his life.
One fateful day, his friends from an amateur performance circle invited him to join them in taking entrance exams at the renowned B.V. Shchukin Theatrical School. Despite having no intention of pursuing a career in the arts, Safonov was surprisingly accepted into Professor Anna Orochko's class.
He graduated from the Theater School named after B.V. Schukin in 1949 and went on to become an actor at the Chamber Theater, where he remained from 1949. Subsequently, he joined the Moscow Theater Satire in 1950, followed by stints at the theater of the group of Soviet troops in Potsdam, Germany, from 1952, and the Leningrad Komissarzhevskaya Theater, from 1955.
In 1958, Safonov became an actor at the Theater Studio in Moscow, a position he held until his passing. Sadly, Vsevolod Safonov succumbed to cancer on July 6, 1992, in Moscow. He was laid to rest on the 11th plot of the Khovansky (Central) cemetery in the city.
