Wayne Brady, a talented individual, was born in Columbus, Georgia, and spent his formative years in Orlando, Florida. At the tender age of 16, Brady had already made up his mind to pursue a career in the military, little did he know that his life was about to take a dramatic turn. A chance performance in a high school play would not only earn him rave reviews but also drastically alter his long-term plans.
As he entered his teenage years, Brady became increasingly involved in the central Florida theater community, taking to the stage in numerous productions, including the iconic "A Chorus Line", "Fences", "A Raisin in the Sun", "Jesus Christ Superstar", and "I'm Not Rappaport". His passion for the performing arts only grew stronger, and he soon found himself performing at the prestigious Mark Taper Forum in its production of "Blade to the Heat".
Brady's talents didn't go unnoticed, and he soon landed guest starring roles in several television series, including NBC's "I'll Fly Away" (1991),"The Home Court" (1995),and CBS's "In the Heat of the Night" (1988). In 1996, he made the bold move to Los Angeles, where he began working in both theater and television.
Currently, Brady is keeping busy hosting the VH-1 series "Vinyl Justice", which is set to premiere in August. His impressive work in theater has earned him several nominations, including Best Actor in a Musical for "Cotton Patch Gospel" at the esteemed Edyth Bush Theatre. He was also named Sak Theatre's 1992 Rookie of the Year for TheatreSports/Improv, a testament to his dedication and natural talent.
