William was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He spent his early childhood in West Africa from the ages of three to six before returning to Canada. As a dual citizen of Canada and the US, he holds current passports for both countries and speaks fluent French and English.
Growing up, William's first love was baseball, and he dreamed of playing for the Montreal Expos. He would often attend Expos games, where he met actor Donald Sutherland, who would later give him a signed ball from the 1981 Cincinnati Reds Team.
William was an athletic child who enjoyed playing sports. He built a skating rink in his backyard every winter and played until it was too dark to see his skates. He also played high school volleyball and was part of the Junior Team that accompanied the Varsity Team to the Provincial Championships. The team won the Provincial Championships that year, and William's teams went on to win two more Provincial Championships during his high school years.
After high school, William attended Champlain College, where he made the starting lineup in his first year and was coached by the influential coach Bonenberg. William continued to play volleyball and eventually moved to Florida to pursue his education.
In Florida, William discovered his passion for acting and began auditioning for roles. His first audition was for the TV show "SeaQuest DSV," and he was eventually cast in the role. This marked the beginning of his 31-year career as an actor.
William's early success led him to move to Vancouver, Canada, where he worked non-stop for six months. He landed a recurring role on the Showtime comedy "Beggars and Choosers" and worked with acting coach Larry Moss, who had a significant impact on his career.
After honing his craft in Vancouver for 10 years, William moved to New York City to work on the daytime drama "All My Children." He received an Emmy nomination during his first year on the show.
William's subsequent roles include working on Bravo Canada's "Godiva's," the international hit "Bold & The Beautiful," and the comedy series "InSecurity." He has also appeared in primetime roles on shows such as "HBO's The Transporter," "Castle," "NCIS," and "Nikita," as well as recurring roles on "Beauty and the Beast" and "Hemlock Grove."
In recent years, William has worked on "General Hospital" and has been developing his own action-adventure series, "Colt & McQueen," and an MOW, "Christmas in Bordeaux." He has been repped by Manager Paulo Andres of "Rothman Andres" for over 14 years and Candace Fulton at Integral Artists in Vancouver, Canada for over 20 years.
