Xavi's origin story is deeply rooted in his early life in Canada, where he was born to loving parents Jesusa and Fernando de Guzman, who hails from the Philippines. As a young boy, Xavi displayed a natural aptitude for sports, which would ultimately shape his athletic prowess and guide him towards a path of discipline and focus.
This innate passion for sports led him to explore various combat disciplines, including boxing and later, the ancient art of Muay Thai. His decision to pursue these sports not only honed his physical skills but also steered him clear of the dangers of gang involvement and drug addiction.
Under the guidance of Southside Muay Thai in Toronto, Xavi went on to achieve remarkable success, securing and defending the lightweight title in Canada. This impressive feat garnered widespread recognition, leading to his first on-camera role, despite having no prior acting experience, on the popular television show Rookie Blue, where he portrayed a boxer.
This experience sparked a newfound passion within Xavi, and he began to seek guidance from his high school friend and actor, Alex Mallari Jr. He then went on to receive mentorship from esteemed acting coaches Earl Nanhu of EVN Studios, Stephen Park of Lonsdale Smith Studios, as well as Second City, and Lewis Baumander of LB Studios, further refining his craft and setting him on a trajectory towards a successful acting career.
