Biography

Youssef Tounzi is a Moroccan-born television and film actor who discovered his passion for acting at the tender age of seven. After graduating from drama school, he went on to study various acting techniques, script analysis, and scene analysis in Europe. His extensive credits include a wide range of television and film projects.

Some of his notable roles include Bassam in the upcoming Hulu series "No man's land" (2024),Moukhabarat officer in the Showtime series "The Ghost of Beirut" (2023),King Darius III in the History Channel series "Titans of the ancient world" (2023),and Bedad in the Prime Video series "Coeurs noir" (2023).

Youssef's screen success led him to star in back-to-back series, including "Syrian Secretary" in the Al Oula TV series "Le bureau des légendes" (2018) and "Isis Fighter" in the Netflix series "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan" (2018). His other credits include "God Forgives" (2017),a series for Al Oula TV, "Captive" (2016),a drama-documentary series for Netflix, "Banged Up Abroad" (2016),and "Killing Jesus" (2015),both for National Geographic Channel.

In addition, Youssef has appeared in "The Devil in Finding Jesus" (2015),a drama-documentary series for CNN, and "Village Man" in the NBC series "American Odyssey" (2015). Following the success of these series, Youssef was given the opportunity to work on international projects, including "King Apopi" in the canal+ series "Legend of the Pharaohs" (2021) and "Spy guard" in the 2m Tv series "Hdidan and Bent lharaz" (2020).

Youssef is fluent in English, French, and Arabic, and his ability to act in different accents, languages, and dialects has expanded his appeal and made him an international star, extending his reach beyond Morocco.
