Zarif Kabier is a renowned Afghan stage and screen actor who has made a significant impact in the entertainment industry. What's more, the university waived the requirement of a Bachelor's degree for him to attend the program, a testament to his exceptional talent and dedication.
Born as the second son to Muhammed Kabier Sadiqi, a medical doctor and Afghan National Army General, and Jameela Sadiqi (née Monsef),a school-teacher and home-maker, Zarif's early life was marked by significant challenges. His father tragically passed away in Afghanistan during the civil war, leaving Zarif and his family to navigate the tumultuous environment. The family eventually sought political asylum and relocated to the United States, where Zarif spent the next 12 years of his life.
Zarif's extensive experience as a stage actor has seen him perform with numerous prominent regional theatre companies, including Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre off-Broadway, Cleveland Playhouse, San Jose Repertory Theatre, Arizona Theatre Company, the Thick House in San Francisco, Actor's Theatre of Louisville, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, and many others. His recent credits include a performance at the Guthrie Theatre in Enemy of the People, as well as a production with the LA Philharmonic Orchestra at the Disney Concert Hall in Shakespeare's The Tempest.
