Tony Manetta, a struggling Miami hotel owner, is on the verge of financial ruin. His irresponsible nature, fueled by his weakness for women, including his current flame Shirl, only exacerbates his problems. However, his 12-year-old son Ally provides a stabilizing force in his life. When Tony's brother Mario offers to bail him out, but only if he gives up Ally or marries a woman of Mario's choice, Tony and Ally agree to go along with the plan, unaware that the woman in question is the beautiful and intelligent Eleanor Parker.
