Laurel and Will McCullough, a married couple from Seattle, are struggling to overcome their fertility issues and debt from unsuccessful treatments. They decide to foster a child, but their plans are derailed when the birth mother changes her mind. Feeling heartbroken, they decide to hire a caregiver for Laurel's grandmother, Nana, over Christmas to help her cope with the loss of her husband, Pop. Despite initial reservations, Nana warms up to the caregiver, Gloria Merkel, who proves to be a "Mrs. Miracle" in helping the family heal and find hope for the future.
