The Sheriff is shot, and Ray captures two bandits, but the third, Max, flees. Max commits another crime and later switches horses with Ray. Convincing the Sheriff of his innocence, Ray devises a plan to catch Max by advertising the payment of the deceased's insurance policy in cash at the funeral.
