An assistant basketball coach, Marcus Marakovich, is forced to choose between prison or community service coaching a team of players with learning disabilities after an incident. Initially struggling, Marcus comes to understand the players' value beyond their skills on the court. He also develops a complicated relationship with a player's sister, Alex, as tensions arise between her and their player, Johnny.
