Two years after her husband's passing, Jen Davis is determined to keep their dream of moving back to their hometown alive, so their preteen daughter can be closer to both sets of grandparents. Jen, a web designer, attends the PTO meeting to sign up for the year, only to be stuck on the Field Day committee, notorious for its disasterous events. She's joined by Marissa, a workaholic lawyer, and Kelly, an aspiring social media influencer and alpha mom-in-waiting. As they struggle to make Field Day a success, they must navigate their differences and work together, all while dealing with their own personal struggles and the added pressure of parent gossip. Jen's blossoming friendship with PE teacher Dan Aldridge adds an extra layer of complexity, as they navigate the possibility of a romantic relationship.
