A middle-aged film enthusiast, still living with his mother in Belgrade, finds his life turned upside down when NATO's bombing forces them to become refugees. After a surreal journey, they end up in New York, where he must confront the reality that his beloved film projectionist job is no longer viable. As he struggles to adapt to his new surroundings, he discovers discarded projectors and becomes driven to share the magic of traditional cinema with others, traveling the world to showcase the unique experience of film strips, mechanical projectors, and big screens.
